Find your way around the studio
The studio is a real music studio in your browser and on your Mac. Every song made in Vocals opens there, with every part on its own track.
The studio needs a computer or an iPad. On a phone, Vocals is the app without the studio.

From the rail, Studio lets you pick a song or start from scratch. Every song also has Open in the studio.

Each row is one instrument: its name and sound on the left, its music in the lane on the right.

M mutes, S solos, the dot arms recording, the mic turns your voice into notes and ✦ lets the AI write a part. The slider is the volume.

Bar numbers along the top, and the song’s sections (Intro, Verse, Chorus…) under them. Click the ruler to move the playhead.

Coloured blocks are clips. Double-click an empty spot to make one, drag to move it, ⌘D to repeat it, right-click for more.

Play and stop with the space bar. Loop a section, turn on the metronome, and set the tempo and key next to them.

Every instrument, drum kit and effect. Drag one onto a track, or click ▶ to preview it.
Pro tips
- Hover over anything in the studio to see what it does.
- ⌘Z undoes anything, and your song saves itself as you work.
- The ? menu has two guided tours and every keyboard shortcut.
