Vocals vs Suno

Suno generates finished songs with vocals. Vocals writes the instrumental as parts you can open, change and own outright.

Suno generates complete songs, including sung vocals, from text and lyrics in the cloud. Its free plan is non-commercial, paid plans add commercial rights and credits, and Suno Studio, a browser workstation, comes with the top plan. Vocals generates instrumental arrangements as editable MIDI, in your browser or on your Mac, with no credits to count.

Where Suno is stronger
  • Sung vocals and lyrics. Vocals doesn’t generate vocals at all.
  • Finished, radio-style audio from a single prompt, with tools to extend, cover and replace sections.
  • Runs in any browser and on phones.
Where Vocals is stronger
  • You own what you make, for commercial use too. Suno’s free plan is non-commercial and Suno keeps ownership of those songs.
  • Every part is real MIDI on real instruments: change one chord, one drum hit or the whole bassline.
  • No credits to count (Suno added download caps in September 2026), and the Mac app works offline.
  • Claude can drive Vocals over MCP; Suno has no official API.
