Vocals for Mac, and Claude producing in it
The same studio runs as an app on your Mac. It is also an MCP server: Claude Desktop, Claude Code or any MCP app can compose, mix and master in Vocals while you watch.
The studio needs a computer or an iPad. On a phone, Vocals is the app without the studio.
-
From the Studio picker (Vocals for Mac) or your profile, download the app. It comes with the Studio plan.
-
In the Mac app, open Settings (⌘,) and go to Connect AI apps.
-
Add to Claude Desktop in one click, then restart Claude. For Claude Code, Copy command and paste it in your terminal.
-
“Make a lo-fi beat with a Rhodes and a soft vocal chop.” Claude adds tracks, writes clips and sets sounds, one undo step each.
-
Claude can render the song and listen to it, then fix what it hears. You watch every change in the studio.
Pro tips
- The server only listens on your Mac, with a private token: web pages can’t reach it.
- The MCP page lists all its tools, with examples.
